Communities

Explore Vancouver West

Vancouver West isn’t one neighbourhood — it’s a collection of them. Beach towns, heritage streets, village main streets, and quiet family enclaves, all minutes from downtown. Here’s your guide to the communities of Vancouver West.

Kitsilano

Beach life meets city life. Walk to Kits Beach, swim at the famous Kitsilano Pool, and spend weekends along West 4th Avenue's restaurants and boutiques. Young, active, and outdoorsy — this is where Lululemon opened its very first store. Minutes to downtown, with the beach as your backyard.

Shaughnessy

Vancouver's grand old neighbourhood. Heritage mansions stand behind towering trees on wide, quiet streets — some of the most prestigious addresses in Western Canada. VanDusen Botanical Garden is next door, and downtown is a straight shot down Granville.

UBC

Campus energy surrounded by forest. Home to the University of British Columbia, wrapped in Pacific Spirit Regional Park's 800+ hectares of trails. The Museum of Anthropology, the botanical garden, and Wreck Beach are local landmarks.

Kerrisdale

Village charm in the middle of the city. Kerrisdale Village along West 41st is all independent boutiques, bakeries, and coffee shops — the kind of main street people drive across town for. Leafy character-home streets, an active community centre, and a strong family scene.

Dunbar–Southlands

Family Vancouver at its best. Dunbar Village has everything a family needs — groceries, cafes, bookshops, the community centre — wrapped in a friendly small-town feel. Top schools nearby and Pacific Spirit Park's trails at the doorstep. People move here and never leave.

Marpole

The smart entry into Vancouver West. The most accessible prices on the west side — condos and townhomes along the Fraser River. Quick to the airport, quick to Richmond, and a straight run downtown. Great value for first-time buyers who want the west-side address.

Arbutus Ridge

The quiet middle. Pure residential calm — tree-lined streets and the Arbutus Greenway, the old rail line turned into a walking and cycling path running the length of the neighbourhood. Kerrisdale and Kitsilano are minutes away on either side.

Point Grey

Beachfront living, west coast calm. Jericho, Locarno, and Spanish Banks beaches make sunset walks and ocean views daily life. The West 10th village has the shops and restaurants, the streets are quiet and green, and UBC is right next door.

Oakridge

The west side's new downtown. Oakridge Park — one of Canada's largest redevelopments — is bringing a new town centre, park, and thousands of homes around the Canada Line station. Buy into the future of Vancouver West.
